Man arrested for stealing car left running in Sharjah



Police arrested a Yemeni man for stealing a car that was left running in Al Qasimia area of Sharjah.

The operations room of Sharjah Police were alerted by a Saudi national that his Mercedes vehicle carrying a Saudi licence plate was stolen when he left it running near a hotel in Sharjah, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.

Police found the stolen vehicle abandoned after it was involved in a traffic accident. The suspect had fled the scene but was later arrested.

Sharjah Police warned motorists against leaving their cars unattended and running to avoid car thefts.
