Man accused at Dubai court of kidnapping alleged rapist of his 13-year-old girl

DUBAI // A man on trial for the rape of a 13-year-old girl was kidnapped by her father, assaulted with a stick and threatened with a knife, a court has been told.

B A, 22, who has a Comoros Island passport, was kidnapped by the father, mother and brother of the girl on March 21, prosecutors said. The brother has been referred to the Juvenile Court.

A B, a 34-year-old Pakistani, helped the family to take B A to a partially built villa after he had been lured into a trap by his alleged victim, the court heard.

“She told me to meet her in a park in Al Qusais. I went there and she stood near my car talking to me when I saw the three men approaching,” B A said.

“They opened my car door and pulled me out of it. One of them restrained me while the other two assaulted me with a wooden bar.”

He said that they threatened him with a knife and another weapon and that the Emirati father, M A, 58, demanded that he confess to raping the girl after spiking her drink.

The girl’s mother testified that her daughter said the man had raped her, so she told her husband who arranged the kidnapping.

“I was driving my husband’s car when my daughter met B A,” the mother said. “The three men then pulled him out of his car and brought him to the car I was driving and we went to the villa, which is under construction.

“Then we spoke to B A about the rape incident.”

The girl said her parents only spoke with him and that her brother recorded the meeting on his mobile phone.

She said the man had confessed to the rape.

Her father denied a charge of kidnapping and another of drinking alcohol.

“No, I didn’t drink alcohol. I just had beer,” he told the presiding judge.

Policeman M A, 30, said the men had confessed to kidnapping and assaulting B A. He said the knife and another weapon were found buried in the sand near the villa.

B A is awaiting a verdict in the rape case, which is scheduled for October 22, after pleading not guilty at Dubai Criminal Court last month.

Prosecutors alleged that he picked the girl up from school and gave her spiked juice before raping her in his car. He is a friend of the girl’s boyfriend.

The next hearing on the kidnapping and assault charges is scheduled for November 13.
