DUBAI // A male prostitute will spend six months in prison after being arrested for fighting a man who tried to film him with a client.
The Pakistani, 22, was having sex with a man at a labour accommodation in Bur Dubai on August 24 last year when he saw a labourer filming him. The two fought and police were called.
“After questioning a number of workers, we discovered that the defendant had been charging men Dh20 for sex,” said an Emirati policeman.
The officer said the man was known among workers to be a prostitute and had been a sex worker in his home country.
He said the man admitted to having sex with two men on the day of the incident.
“We were all together at our accommodation room when he agreed with the two customers and headed to the showers with them,” a Pakistani worker said. “Later I knew about the fight and that police were contacted.”
At Dubai Criminal Court, the man denied charges of prostitution.
His two Pakistani clients, aged 26 and 30, were referred to Dubai Court of Misdemeanours on charges of having consensual sex with a man and drinking alcohol without a licence.
Court records did not disclose what happened to the labourer who was accused of filming the men.
The prostitute was sentenced to six months in jail while his countrymen were sentenced to two months in prison and a Dh2,000 fine each.
All three will be deported after serving their terms.
