DUBAI// A prostitute was will spend six months in prison after being arrested for fighting a man who tried to film him with a client, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
The 22-year-old Pakistani was allegedly having sex with a man at a labour accommodation in Bur Dubai on August 24 last year when he noticed a labourer filming him. The two men fought and police were called.
“I responded to the report and headed to the accommodation. After questioning a number of workers, we discovered that the defendant had been charging men Dh20 for sex,” said an Emirati policeman, 27.
According to the policeman the man was known amongst the workers as a prostitute and had been a sex worker in his home country, which was not disclosed in court records.
He said the man admitted to having sex with two men on the day of the incident.
“We were all together at our accommodation room when he agreed with the two customers and headed to the showers with them, later I knew about the fight and that police was contacted,” a Pakistani worker said.
The accused was referred to Dubai Criminal Court on charges of prostitution, which he denied.
His two Pakistani clients, aged 26 and 30, were referred to Dubai Court of Misdemeanors on charges of having consensual sex with a male and consuming alcohol without a license.
Court records did not disclose what happened to the labourer who allegedly filmed the men.
The male prostitute was sentenced to six months in jail while his countrymen were sentenced to two months in prison and a Dh2,000 fine each.
All three will be deported after serving their terms.
