Maid commits suicide in Ras Al Khaimah

The sponsor's family revealed that the maid did not show any suspicious behaviour that would suggest she would commit suicide.

RAS AL KHAIMAH // A 28 year old Asian maid committed suicide by hanging herself in her room at her sponsor’s residence in Ras Al Khaimah.

Colonel Salem Rubayaa, director of the Khor Khuwair police station in Ras Al Khaimah, said they received a call reporting the maid was found dead with a rope around her neck which she had tied to a steel rod.

According to Al Ittihad, The National’s Arabic sister publication, police found her dead at the scene.

The case was transferred to competent authorities to complete necessary legal procedures.

Colonel Rubayaa said that initial investigations with the sponsor’s family revealed that the maid did not show any suspicious behaviour that would suggest that she would commit suicide.
