DUBAI // A labourer who killed a colleague after having sex with him has been jailed for life.
K H, 23, was found guilty of the premeditated murder of Abu Elyaz Khan Meer.
An accomplice, Karamat Arif Jafeed, died before facing charges.
The Criminal Court heard the pair visited the victim’s room on August 24, 2009, after arranging to have sex with him for Dh500.
One of them had sex with the victim then a fight broke out. The two men overpowered the victim, gagged him and stabbed him in the chest until he was dead.
They stole his wallet and left the room, locking it as they went.
Jafeed took his annual leave that day and left for Pakistan but was arrested at Dubai Airport when he returned. Police had matched his fingerprints to those found in the dead man’s room.
He confessed during police interrogations but died before he could be charged. Court records did not give the cause of death.
His accomplice was then arrested and charged. He will be deported after his prison term.
