Kim Kardashian says today it's Dubai, tomorrow The World

DUBAI // Kim Kardashian says she is so taken with her first 24 hours in the UAE she is planning an extravagant holiday home.

"I want to buy one of the islands on The World," said Kardashian, 30. "It's a dream of mine to build a Kardashian Hotel and have each room with a different theme. Mine would be like a princess's palace - really glamorous with a hint of pink and lots of bling!"

After appearing at Dubai's Atlantis, The Palm hotel to promote the first Millions of Milkshakes store outside of the US, her thoughts turned to a VIP dinner with members of the emirate's Royal Family, the Al Maktoums, at a desert ranch on Thursday night.

"I'm so excited to meet them and I think I'm going to wear a long red dress," Kardashian says.

"The Emirati people are extremely generous and so welcoming - it's truly on another level. I've never experienced such genuinely sweet people before. Dubai really feels like home and I can't wait to bring all my family back here."

The reality-TV star is looking at bringing Dash, the fashion boutique business she owns with her sisters, to the UAE and possibly developing a range of cosmetics and hair-care products in the region.

"When I see the Arab women here I feel I look like them, I really do connect with them," she said.

But the Armenian-American celebrity said she will not have much time to check out the competition with a spot of retail therapy on this four-day visit.

"I can't tell you the last time I went shopping, I just don't have the time," she said. "I'm not a socialite who shops all day. I'm business all of the time, almost to a fault. I have a really strong work ethic and I get this from my mum and dad [the late Robert Kardashian]."

Kardashian's "Mum-ager", Kris Jenner, is accompanying her and, despite jet lag, was hugely excited to be in a country she had read so much about.

"We didn't want to offend anybody or wear the wrong thing," Jenner said.

"We wanted to be perfectly correct in all things. For some reason I expected it to be a bit more formal and reserved here, but in fact it's been exactly the opposite, delightful.

"What's surprised me the most is the warm and generous hospitality. You can see it in everybody's eyes. That's the one thing I really hope to take back home and tell people - get yourselves over here because if you haven't been you're missing out!"

Millions of Milkshakes owner Sheeraz Hasan hopes the entire Kardashian clan will make frequent trips to the region as he franchises more stores across the Middle East.

"I've been approached by some extremely influential people in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain," Mr Hasan said. "They all want us to open up there and do more business with the Kardashian brand so I'm sure that will include Kim and the other sisters too."

With four daughters and one son in the media spotlight, who will Jenner choose to bring over from the US next?

"Well, I do have a favourite child," she said, grinning. "It changes every day and depends on who needs me business-wise or needs a hug the most."

Kardashian plans to return to Los Angeles on Sunday laden with presents for her siblings.

"I would really like to get them some local gifts," she said. "My sisters want clothes so I'll find something traditional for them."

But for her sister Kourtney's boyfriend, the memento might be a little less conventional.

Upon hearing about the health benefits of low-cholesterol, low-calorie camel milk, Kardashian said the product would be perfect for Scott Disick, whom she said is lactose intolerant.

When told about the frothy coffee and camel milk drink served at the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, Kardashian appeared curious, and may sample it when she visits the capital tomorrow.

"Does camel milk taste different to normal milk?" she said. "Camelccino? No way. Oh my goodness! How cool!"
