Two people died and six others, including a nine-year-old child, were seriously injured when their car flipped over and crashed in a rural area of Sharjah. Police said the crash happened in the Madam town area close to the border with Oman at 10.40pm on Tuesday. The male driver lost control of the vehicle, which swerved before flipping over several times and landing on the side of the road. Rescue teams found the Indian couple, aged 46 and 41, dead at the scene. Six others were taken to Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah city. All were on tourist visas, police said. Police urged all road users to drive safely and stick to traffic laws. Officers did not state what caused the crash. It is not clear if the dead and injured were from one family.
