UAE health officials warn public against unregistered cough syrup

DUBAI // The Ministry of Health has urged people not to buy or sell Kimi Pickett cough syrup, which is unregistered in the UAE.

The syrup, made in the Middle East, is being sold in some pharmacies and has been the subject of ‘several rumours on social networking sites’. Health officials said they have not received any information regarding the medicine and do not know how harmful it may be.

The ministry urged residents to report anyone buying or selling the syrup in the UAE through the free hotline number 80011111, the Tamenni programme on their website.
