DUBAI // Tighter regulations are being introduced to help improve standards among pharmacists in Dubai Healthcare City.
New licensing rules will affect 15 chemists and close to 100 pharmacists in the free zone. Staff will now have to register with the DHCC authority.
From December 1, the authority will conduct regular on-site inspections and ensure that pharmacy practitioners adhere to the UAE Pharmacy Law and its stipulated legal, ethical and administrative guidelines, as well as the authority’s quality standards.
Workshops are being conducted this month to introduce the new process and highlight the benefits.
Dr Ramadan Al Blooshi, managing director of regulation at the DHCC authority, said: “We are putting considerable efforts to ensure that the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals including pharmacy practitioners in Dubai Healthcare City are maintained,” he said.
