First aid training for Abu Dhabi Municipality staff

ABU DHABI // Municipality employees have been receiving first-aid training in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police.

Members of staff were taught cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques and how to use a defibrillator during the sessions.

The training is part of plans to improve the overall first-aid knowledge of workers and give them the ability to respond in an emergency situation.

“The municipality has held a series of workshops through which it aimed to educate employees, as well as customers of the municipality, and raise their awareness of the first aid skills, fire fighting and coping with accidents, and training on the sound handling of emergency conditions,” said Othman Fulathi, director of facilities and security at Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

A defibrillator was installed in the main lounge of the municipality customer relations centre at its head office following the training.

“The device is an important first-aid step,” Mr Fulathi said.
