The UAE recorded 470 more coronavirus cases on Monday, after carrying out another 57,506 tests.

The new cases raised the country’s tally to 74,454.

At least 438 patients were cleared of the virus, taking the recovery total to 66,533.

And two patients died, raising the death toll to 390.

The number of active cases now stands at 7,531, with almost 89 per cent of all infections ending in recovery.

Almost 7.6 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out across the Emirates since the outbreak.

On Sunday, a record number of daily recoveries was reported across the UAE with 2,443 patients officially overcoming the virus. In the Emirates, two consecutive negative PCR tests are needed to clear a patient of Covid-19.

Cases have slowly begun to drop back down after a spike of 735 infections in one day last week.
