The UAE reported 1,111 Covid-19 cases on Monday, bringing its total to 126,234. The daily recovery tally exceeded new infections for a fourth day as 1,819 patients were given the all-clear. The overall recovery tally climbed to 120,750. Three more patients died after contracting Covid-19, raising the death toll to 480. The latest cases were identified as a result of 85,093 further tests. More than 12.5 million tests have been conducted nationwide to date. The number of active cases across the Emirates has fallen to 5,004 due to the recent trends of recovery rates outpacing new cases. The UAE has confirmed 9,717 Covid-19 cases in the past seven days, at a daily average of 1,388. During the same reporting period, 11,939 patients have recovered from the virus, equating to 1,705 per day. Officials are continuing to call on members of the public and businesses to comply with Covid-19 safety measures to help drive down case numbers. Authorities are carrying out regular spot checks of commercial premises, markets, fitness centres and leisure spots to ensure key regulations such as the wearing of face masks and physical distancing are being adhered to. Officials said the clamp down was proving a success – with a welcome fall in numbers of offences. Dubai's Department of Economic Development said 712 premises were found to be compliant with safety measures during extensive inspections of open markets and shopping centres on Sunday. A retail store in a shopping centres was fined due to its employees failing to wear masks.
