The UAE has confirmed 9,717 Covid-19 cases in the past seven days, at a daily average of 1,388.

During the same reporting period, 11,939 patients have recovered from the virus, equating to 1,705 per day.

Officials are continuing to call on members of the public and businesses to comply with Covid-19 safety measures to help drive down case numbers.

Authorities are carrying out regular spot checks of commercial premises, markets, fitness centres and leisure spots to ensure key regulations such as the wearing of face masks and physical distancing are being adhered to.

Officials said the clamp down was proving a success – with a welcome fall in numbers of offences.

Dubai's Department of Economic Development said 712 premises were found to be compliant with safety measures during extensive inspections of open markets and shopping centres on Sunday.
