The UAE reported 330 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, taking the country's total number to 63, 819. Officials said 82,000 tests had been carried out across the country. One death was reported on Friday with the toll from coronavirus at 359. Health officials said a total of 57,473 patients had recovered from the virus with 101 patients recuperating in the past 24 hours. Authorities have said more than 15,000 volunteers from 107 nationalities have received the first of two doses as part of the Covid-19 vaccine trials in the Emirates. It is part of the third phase of trials in the country in which a dead version of Covid-19 is being tested. Volunteers will be inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine over the next few weeks. Amid safety measures to slow the spread of the pandemic and ease entry restrictions, travel agencies have said they have received an increase of inquiries after a decision to end the approval process for residents from overseas returning to Abu Dhabi. UAE residents can now come back to Abu Dhabi and other emirates after updating their personal details on an online portal and testing negative for Covid-19 within 96 hours of their flight. Residents of Dubai need to apply for permission to return through the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigner Affairs.
