ABU DHABI // Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has made more of its services available to patients as part of its 10-week staggered opening plan.
The 364-bed hospital on Al Maryah Island is now accepting patients in its medical sub-specialities institute which covers internal medicine, infectious diseases, rheumatology, endocrinology and blood disorders.
The medical campus opened its eye clinic last month and the rest of the services, including pain management, nervous system, brain and spine, digestive health, urology and kidney, dermatology and plastic surgery, will open within weeks.
The programme concludes with accident and emergency on May 31.
Dr Hussein Saadi, chief of the medical sub specialties institute, said: “Our multidisciplinary approach brings together specialists to diagnose and treat conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, blood disorders and infectious diseases.”
Once fully operational, CCAD will have more than 30 medical and surgical specialities and is designed to operate centres covering digestive disease, eye, heart and vascular disorders, neurological treatment, and respiratory and critical care.
It will not offer orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology services, or treat patients under the age of 14 with the exception of the eye institute.
At present, CCAD will only accept Thiqa card holders and selected enhanced Daman insurance plans.
