AL AIN // The Tawam Fertility Centre has marked its 25th anniversary.
During this time the centre, which was one of the first fertility clinics in the country, has helped thousands of couples conceive children.
One such patient, Salem, was suffering from a condition that prevented him from becoming a father.
The doctors at the centre were able to help him and he is now a father.
Gregory Schaffer, Tawam Hospital’s chief executive said, “We are very proud to be one of the longest serving fertility centres in the UAE.
“We have been able to help thousands of couples to start their families. Celebrating our 25th anniversary this year prompts us to continue delivering the best of care and treatment possible for many more years to come.”
The services provided by the centre include cycle monitoring, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilisation, intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection, embryo transfer, and gamete freezing services.
The centre also offers counselling, patient education and other specialised services.
Dr Fatheya Sharif, head of Tawam Fertility Centre, said that since the birth of the centre’s first in vitro fertilisation baby in 1991, the centre has had a conception success rate of 55 per cent among younger women and 35 per cent of older women.
“We are looking forward to 25 years further and beyond for the centre and are honoured to continue assisting couples towards their dream of mother and fatherhood,” he said.
