The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority is carrying out a three-day inspection campaign targeting agricultural suppliers in the emirate.
According to Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic sister publication, the campaign, which began on Sunday, is targeting 308 shops selling agricultural products including pesticides, fertilisers, soil conditioners, seeds and seedlings.
The inspections aim to ensure the facilities observe the laws regarding the sale of agricultural products.
The programme is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Department of Economic Development.
Ghanim Al Shamsi, acting assistant undersecretary of external audit at the ministry, said the campaign was part of their efforts to boost cooperation with strategic partners and raise agricultural shops’ awareness of the law.
