DUBAI// A male hairdresser has denied kissing a customer against her will after giving her a facial treatment, Dubai Criminal Court heard on Tuesday morning.
Egyptian M A, 35, is charged with sexually assaulting his Romanian customer L P, 23, on June 7.
L P told prosecutors that she booked an appointment at the beauty salon at 2:30pm on the day of the alleged incident.
“I arrived and the defendant had me seated on a chair, isolated by a curtain, then started steam cleaning my face,” she told the court. “He then applied some creams and all of a sudden, as I had my eyes closed, I felt his lips on mine,” she said, adding that she immediately called police.
Prosecutors said they went over surveillance recordings from the salon but, since the two were hidden by a glass barrier and a curtain, they only saw the woman angrily walking out as she spoke on her phone while the defendant followed her, trying to talk to her.
The hairdresser denied the charge in court and the next hearing will take place on November 25.
