UAE donates more than Dh2bn to children in four years

ABU DHABI // The UAE’s humanitarian institutions have donated more than Dh2 billion to children worldwide between 2010 and 2014.

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, head of the UAE Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, said the UAE is committed to supporting children in developing countries, state news agency Wam reported.

She added that the aid reflects the philosophy of the UAE’s leadership, namely President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

Sheikha Lubna spoke ahead of Universal Children’s Day, which takes place on November 20.
