UAE Child Protection Network launched



Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, wife of Sharjah Ruler has launched a UAE Child Protection Network that will be responsible for ensuring child safety and maintaining their rights across the country.

The initiation of the network was announced during a visit to the Social Services in Sharjah.

The network will accept membership applications from individuals and institutions in an attempt to discuss and resolve social issues.

“In order to develop a safe and protective environment for children, we aim to develop the skills and capacities of workers in this field, especially those who work with victims of violence,” said Sheikha Jawaher.

“The society is ready today to seek help and advice to address the problems and arrive at solutions. We hope today Sharjah is an example of progressive development in all aspects specially those related to human affairs, and is in the forefront in spreading awareness to achieve social harmony and stability.”

The launch of the network follows the death of a four-year-old Egyptian boy who fell from an apartment on the 19th floor of a building in the Sharjah.
