The Fazza Youlah Championship kicks off - People & Politics in pictures

The qualifying round for the Fazza Youlah Championship for adults was held at the Heritage Village at the Global Village in Dubai.

Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed, UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, has received the Golden Erbse (Golden Pea) Award from Marchenland, the German Centre For Fairy Tale Culture, in recognition of her outstanding efforts in the humanitarian field and social work, as well as her advocacy for refugee children, cancer patients, the needy and the vulnerable. The awarding ceremony took place at the German Music House in Berlin as part of the 26th Berlin Fairy Tale Days.

Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed, Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients and International Ambassador for the World Cancer Declaration of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC, welcomed high profile delegates attending the Non-Communicable Diseases Forum being held in Sharjah for the first time through a welcoming high tea reception.
