Sheikha Lubna praises President as part of Thank You, Khalifa campaign

ABU DHABI // President Sheikh Khalifa deserves the gratitude of the people of the UAE and the world, according to Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development.

She praised his humanitarian work on Thursday following the launch of the Thank You, Khalifa campaign.

“His generosity knows no bounds and does not discriminate from one country to another,” Sheikha Lubna said.

“He has united people through his philanthropy. Not only does he give, and continue to give, to the people of his country, but he is always ready to aid countries and people in need of help by establishing development projects and charity work, and send immediate aid for disaster relief.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, launched Thank You, Khalifa to call on the UAE to honour the President on January 4 – the anniversary of Sheikh Mohammed’s accession.

Sheikha Lubna said the campaign was Sheikh Mohammed’s way of showing his gratitude for the President’s tireless efforts to make Emiratis the happiest people in the world.

“The UAE has become a beacon of hope in countries which require aid, thanks to his humanitarian work,” she said.

“We can witness, as does the rest of the world, that Khalifa’s generosity does not shy away from those stricken with humanitarian disasters around the globe. He helps sow the seeds of development and stability in impoverished and developing countries.”

Under the guidance of Sheikh Khalifa, the UAE became one of the most charitable countries in the world, she said.

“Showing our gratitude is the least thing we can do to express our support to the leader of this country,” Sheikha Lubna said.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, also praised Sheikh Khalifa’s love for his nation and people.

“The UAE has every right to honour its leader who kept his promise, showed good faith in his nation and people, and translated his words into actions that are touched today by both Emiratis and expatriate residents in reality in the form of inclusive social development, services, and economic projects that have made quantum leaps in the process of development, progress and modernisation,” Sheikh Saud said.
