Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has inspected UAE forces in Bahrain, where they are part of the Waves of the Gulf Duty Force.
During his visit on Monday, Sheikh Saif told troops they were representing the UAE in the best light as ambassadors of “righteousness, goodness and peace”, the state news agency Wam reported.
He said the forces of evil and terrorism who had committed criminal and terrorist acts recently in Bahrain would only increase the UAE’s determination and insistence on facing it with firmness, as the security of the Gulf was a united effort.
In November, Sheikh Saif said the security of the Gulf states was a shared responsibility and a threat against one would be considered a threat against all.
On a state visit to Bahrain after the conclusion of Arabian Gulf Security, a month-long joint security exercise arranged by the six members of the GCC, he said: “We will protect our common security in the Gulf region in actions, not in words.
“We will build an insusceptible barrier to fend off any threat to the security of any Gulf state.”
