Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has handed over 3,000 plots and mortgages worth a total of Dh5.6 billion to Emiratis. He wished Emiratis a happy new year while tweeting the announcement of the land allocation and said it was part of objectives to “continue to build a better life for all”. The land will be distributed to UAE citizens after Eid. The decision by the Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai reflected the government’s aim to provide housing for citizens so they enjoy a high standard of living. Land has been demarcated in the Nad Hessa area on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and in Al Aweer located on Emirates Road. Dawood Al Hajri, director general of the Dubai Municipality, said amenities and utilities would be provided to the residents once plots were distributed.
