Sheikh Mohammed and the US general discussed defence co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries.

Mohammed Al Bowardi, UAE Defence Minister, left, and Maj Gen Essa Al Mazrouei, deputy chief of staff of the UAE armed forces, centre, also attended the meeting.

Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, left, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Abu Dhabi Executive Council member, were also guests at the iftar reception.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed met Gen John Nicholson, the commander of the ‘Resolute Support’ mission and of US forces in Afghanistan at Al Bateen Palace on Tuesday.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces discussed defence cooperation and coordination, WAM the UAE state news agency reported.

Sheikh Mohammed and the US general also exchanged views on the current regional and international developments and a number of issues of mutual concern.
