Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Emirates Society for the Talented on Tuesday.
The Dubai Ruler was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Lt Gen Dhahi Khalfan Tamin, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, and Chairman of the Society.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid heard a presentation on the objectives of the society, which aims to foster innovative skills of gifted students, and heard IQ test results for 50 secondary and high school students, reported state news agency Wam.
Two of the 17 students who passed the test and will be sponsored by the society, spoke to Sheikh Mohammed about their scientific innovations.
Founded in 1988, the society plans to sponsor 150 outstanding students over the next ten years.
