Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, received a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin covering issues of mutual interest and areas of concern. The note was delivered by Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Chechnya, who is currently on a visit to the UAE. In the letter, Mr Putin also expressed his wish to improve ties between the two countries, by strengthening overall co-operation and co-ordination. In response, Sheikh Mohamed, also Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, extended his greetings to Mr Putin, according to Wam, the UAE's news agency. The pair also spoke about ways to improve relations between the UAE and Chechnya. During the discussions, Mr Kadyrov also congratulated the UAE on the successful Hope mission and thanked the country for its support during the pandemic. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.
