Sheikh Mansour pays tribute to humanitarian response across UAE



ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has paid tribute to all of those involved in the UAE’s humanitiarian initiatives and charities.

According to the state news agency, Wam, Sheikh Mansour paid glowing tribute to all those who launched humanitarian initiatives that enriched the Zayed Humanitarian Day activities.

He said he was optimistic about the broader engagement of government and nongovernment entities, as well as individuals of both genders and of all ages, in humanitarian work. “The humanitarian work will become a lifestyle that the UAE community will then transform into an excellent philanthropic community whose members support each other and race to serve their community and nation,” he said.

Sheikh Mansour was speaking at an event organised by the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation, of which he is chairman, at the Emirates Palace in the capital.

The event was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and a number of heads of local government departments.

Mr Al Za’abi, who is also deputy chairman of the Khalifa Fund, said they had full readiness to implement the leadership’s directives to respond to the needs and requirements of needy people anywhere in the world.
