ANKARA // Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed visited the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder and first president of Turkey, in the country’s capital on Sunday.
At the beginning of his official visit to Turkey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation laid a wreath at the mausoleum, where he also signed the VIP visitor’s book.
He was accompanied by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE Ambassador to Turkey.
Turkey has been struggling with its security, especially in recent months after it imposed a national state of emergency in July. There have been several states of emergency over the years in one area or another, mostly because of the activities of the Kurdish insurgent group, the PKK.
