Sheikh Abdullah condemns suspected terrorist incident in Paris

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemned a suspected terrorist incident at Orly Airport in Paris on Saturday, during a phone call with his French counterpart.

French security shot dead a 39-year-old man who tried to grab a soldier’s weapon after saying he was “here to die for Allah”, a Paris prosecutor said. The man acted with “intentions that were very visibly criminal”, he said.

Sheikh Abdullah told Jean-Marc Ayrault that the UAE holds a firm stance against violence and terrorism. He called for stronger and more focused international efforts to combat the problem at its roots, which he said imposes a threat against the security and stability of all countries.

The UAE stands in solidarity with France and the French government to preserve its security, stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens, Sheikh Abdullah said.
