Nearly 350 people will benefit from Dh10.3 million in grants provided by the Marriage Fund as part of the second wave of the year's recipients.
The 347 beneficiaries were notified through text message that the money provided by the Fund had been transferred to their bank accounts, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The announcement was made by Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State and chairman of the Marriage Fund.
The Marriage Fund provides citizens with financial support for the formation of an Emirati family, thus encouraging the recipients to marry citizens.
The Marriage Fund claims this helps contribute to the stability and cohesion of society by constructing family units that constitute the basis of the UAE.
Dr Al Shamsi stated her commitment to providing the highest standards of service to the recipients and to maintaining a healthy working environment to the employees internally.
Dr Al Shamsi thanked the leadership of the UAE for the foresight in mobilising the nation to realise the vision 2021.
