RAK housing project for Emiratis to begin in June



ABU DHABI // Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme will begin to implement phase one of the housing project at Bateen Al Samar in Ras Al Khaimah in June.

The SZHP also said that 2,838 homes were being built for locals in various parts of the emirate. Last year, a total of 2,281 people benefited from the programme, at a total cost of Dh1.198 billion.

Jamila Al Fandi, the director general of SZHP, said the Bateen Al Samar project covers an area of five kilometres, of which the SZHP’s share will be 1,000 homes implemented in two phases; 500 homes in each phase.

Ms Al Fandi told Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National, that there were 2,838 houses under construction in different parts of the emirate. She added that the SZHP last year issued about 2,100 decisions to provide grants and loans in RAK as part of the its efforts to secure decent housing for Emiratis in need.
