Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed took a walk down memory lane on Tuesday when a retired Major General presented him with an old photo of the two of them.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces was given a framed black and white photo, taken in 1979, of himself and Maj Gen Khalifa Matar Al Mazrouei.

The two are seen dressed in uniform and appear to be looking at a piece of paper together.

Maj Gen Al Mazrouei gave Sheikh Mohamed the photo during a Sea Palace barza.

Sheikh Mohamed posted three pictures of the exchange on his Instagram account. In one he is seen thanking the retired Maj Gen Al Mazrouei for the photo.
