Dubai residents are being handed a million good reasons to get switched on to a scheme encouraging the public to access a range of services online.
The service centres of dozens of government bodies are closing their doors this week to go online only.
The Week Without Service Centres initiative, which launched on Sunday and will continue all week, is being spearheaded by Dubai's Department of Finance.
Now the DoF is giving customers extra incentive to embrace technology, by setting aside Dh1 million to be paid as cashback to customers who use online services during the campaign.
People who use apps and online sites to pay bills and complete transactions will be in with a chance of receiving 100 per cent of their payment back.
At least 100 service centres across 40 organisations are participating as Dubai tries to encourage more people to use apps and internet payments.
It follows a similar initiative last year, when government services went online only for a day.
That scheme reportedly led to a 30 per cent jump in the use of smart services during the 24-hour period.
The campaign ends on Thursday.
