New award launched to recognise good governance in Mena region

A new award has been launched aimed at recognising outstanding work in advancing good governance in the Mena region.

The Arab Government Excellence Award was created by The Arab Administrative Development Organisation in cooperation with the UAE.

It will highlight successful experiences and create a positive leadership environment among government sectors across the Arab world.

"The Arab Government Excellence Award aims to create a new development movement in the Arab World,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

"The Arab world's crises are management crises. Successful Arab governments are those that will create successful administrative functions across the education, trade and investment, and healthcare sectors,"

"Nations and peoples who have realised the proper management of finances, knowledge, and community, are those that have succeeded in attaining their development renaissance.”

"The Arab Government Excellence Award comes as a new model of partnership between the Government of the UAE and Arab Administrative Development Organisation, which emanates from the League of Arab States,” said Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.

"Through this award, we aim to stimulate creativity and innovation in Arab government's administrative policy development.

“We aim to highlight successful Arab administration models to benefit all in the region."
