A warning has been issued by the Ministry of Health regarding use of an unregistered dietary supplement.
Achieving Zero, which is being sold online, contains harmful chemicals, the ministry said.
Dr Amin Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary at the ministry, said the authority had received a warning from the US Food and Drug Administration that consumption of the supplement could lead to a rise in blood pressure and a fast heartbeat.
The supplement could also pose significant risk for patients with a history of heart disease or strokes.
Dr Al Amiri, also chairman of the Higher Pharmaceutical Vigilance Committee, said the ministry had recently issued a similar warning on the ban of other dietary supplements, also believed to contain harmful substances.
