The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has dispatched its 29th plane carrying aid to the Yemeni island of Socotra.
The plane had 50 tonnes of food and medicine to help people suffering from food shortages, reported Wam, the state news agency.
The aid is being sent under the directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. It is being followed up on by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Socotran officials expressed appreciation to the UAE for the humanitarian aid, Wam said.
