An Israeli delegation visited Dubai Airport Freezone Authority to discuss foreign investment and strategic relations. The Israeli side explored investment opportunities in the free zone. The visit of the delegation will boost business ties between Dubai and Israel, said Dr Mohammad Al Zarooni, director general of Dafza. “Dubai's economy is open to global markets. [It has a] strategic location and an environment that stimulates investment and trade for growth, especially through its free zones,” he said. “This visit paves the way for expanding co-operation frameworks in several fields. “Dafza with the Israeli delegation wants to create a competitive business environment that benefits all parties.” The Israeli delegation was given a presentation to highlight the key strategic projects and initiatives of the free zone. Several projects were discussed including Dubai CommerCity, the first e-commerce free zone in the region, that aims to make Dubai a regional hub for e-commerce. The Israeli delegation included David Castel, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Haifa and the North, Amir Shani, vice president of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce and Ze'ev Lavie, its vice president of international relations and business development.
