The UAE's latest class of national service recruits showed off their skills at a graduation ceremony in Ajman. The country's 15th batch of military graduates were honoured in a ceremony at an Armed Forces training camp in the Manama area of the emirate. Lt Gen Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, under-secretary of the Ministry of Interior, was on hand as the newly qualified group displayed the results of their internal security operations training. The demonstrations highlighted their readiness to take part in and secure events at the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai. A number of senior Armed Forces and MoI officers attended the ceremony. Training was carried out at Armed Forces centres across the country, in line with Covid-19 safety measures. Smart sanitisation gates were installed at all facilities, while procedures were overseen by Zayed Military Hospital and the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company . The first stage of the extensive training regimen focused on transforming the recruits from civilians to military personnel through the use of weapons and discipline, as well as by improving their physical fitness. Training for the second phase centred on specialist training related to the specific units the recruits will join and lectures aimed at promoting Islamic and patriotic values.
