RAS AL KHAIMAH // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister, presented a scarf to the mother of the Emirati killed in a Bahrain bomb blast to mark Mother’s Day on Friday.
He visited Hessa Abdullah Al Qadhi at her home in RAK’s Sha’am area. Earlier this month her son, First Lt Tariq Al Shehi, became a martyr when he was killed by an improvised bomb as security forces dispersed Shiite protesters in the village of Daih, near Manama.
Sheikh Mohammed said that the highest degree of sacrifice was that of a mother offering her precious son for the sake of the country.
The mother of the martyr, and all mothers of Emirati martyrs, are worthy of honour and appreciation, he said.
Sheikh Mohammed also reiterated that First Lt Al Shehi is martyr of the whole UAE, and not only his family, and said his sons will be under his personal care, since the UAE is one family and the country never forgets those who sacrificed their lives for its sake.
The Vice President was accompanied by Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Lt General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, director of the Office of the Vice President, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, director-general of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.
