Dubai Police let the public loose on their supercar fleet — in pictures

Dubai Police hit the streets in their fleet of luxury cars to showcase the high-end vehicles and interact with residents and tourists prepared for Eid Al Fitr.

”The cars are to promote the image of Dubai Police and encourage the public to interact with the authorities,” says Maj Gen Anas Al Matroushi, director of the transport and rescue department.

Filipino Thirdee Malana and his two daughters, Zuleyka and Ahkeela, pose for a picture with the plug-in hybrid BMW i8, which featured in the most recent Mission Impossible movie.

Lt Obaid bin Abed, director of the tourist police patrols section, and Lt Maitha Al Muheira stood near the vehicles congratulating people on Eid Al Fitr and allowing them to take pictures with them and the vehicles.

Inside the Mercedes G63. Lt bin Abed said that although their job is to go on tourist patrols, they are still police officers who are required to assist the public in emergencies.

From the hotel, the fleet heads to The Fountain near Dubai Mall, where an even bigger crowd starts to gather.

The holidays are one of Dubai Police’s busiest times of the year.
