DUBAI // Dubai Municipality has donated Dh50,000 to Dar Al Ber Society, a UAE charity.
“The donations come as part of Dubai Municipality’s keenness to support entities that benefit the Emirati society,” said Khalid Badri, director of corporate marketing and relations at the municipality.
Hussain Lootah, director general of the municipality, had presented cheques to different charity organisations, after promising to donate an amount equal to the number of cars kept off the road during Car-Free Day, Mr Badri said.
Abdullah Al Falasi, executive director of Dar Al Ber, said the contribution will help bring happiness to those who are vulnerable.
“Dubai Municipality is well known for its incessant support to the philanthropic activities and programmes of Dar Al Ber Society to assist the poor and needy,” he said.
