Latest: Emirates airline shuts down all passenger flights from Wednesday March 25
Gyms and health clubs in Abu Dhabi will close for two weeks from Sunday as part of measures to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, which regulates many private businesses, said the move was to prevent any further spread of Covid-19.
The government said 153 cases were confirmed as of Saturday. Two people have died but 38 have recovered.
Mohammed Al Shorafa, chairman of ADDED, said the government needed operators' "compliance with these urgent measures".
Field inspections will be conducted and legal action will be taken against any gym or club that fails to close, he said.
