The UAE recorded 72 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the country's total to 405.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention said all patients were stable and were undergoing medical treatment in hospitals across the country.
The new cases include individuals from Sri Lanka, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Iran, Comoros, China, Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia, Serbia, Greece, Uruguay, Romania, Sweden, South Africa, Iraq and Yemen, two people from Nepal and Ethiopia, four Emirati, five people from the UK, Pakistan and Lebanon; eight people from Bangladesh and 23 Indian citizens.
The ministry said the cases were identified during investigations that tested people who came into contact with coronavirus patients.
It was also announced on Friday that three people had recovered from the virus in the UAE. They included one Pakistani and two people from Bangladesh, bringing the country's total recoveries to 55.
Authorities called on the public to adhere to measures put in place by the government to stop the spread of coronavirus in the UAE.
They said people should adopt healthy practices, including frequently washing their hands, covering their nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing and practicing social distancing.
Friday's announcement came a day after a nationwide disinfection campaign began.
Everyday this weekend, streets across the country will be sprayed with disinfectant from 8pm to 6am. During that time, Emiratis and residents must not leave their homes, unless in case of emergency.
Supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open but anyone caught outside during the cleaning operation will be stopped by police and must provide a valid reason for leaving their home.
