Former US vice president Al Gore and Icelandic president Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson made the case for why the world needs the Zayed Future Energy Prize to nearly 2,000 key decision-makers including US secretary of state John Kerry.
At the annual two-day Future of Energy Summit, organised by Bloomberg New Energy Finance in New York, videos showcasing the winners’ achievements were shown.
“The level of international support the Zayed Future Energy Prize receives reinforces the UAE leadership’s mission to foster a community that encourages sustainable energy innovation,” Zayed Future Energy Prize director Dr Nawal Al Hosany said.
The impact of the prize will also be highlighted at a regionally focused lunch convened by Masdar on the Middle East and North Africa.
