A series of initiatives aimed at turning the adversity caused by the Covid-19 outbreak into opportunity was launched by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed on Monday. The campaign, Abu Dhabi Inspires, aims to encourage innovation and creativity to help turn the hardship facing society into a means for development. "At the most challenging times, innovation brings new perspectives and creates a path forward," said Sheikh Khalid, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office. "Through Abu Dhabi Inspires, we seek to support timely concepts, substantial ideas and fresh solutions, exploring possibilities that can reshape our world." Initiatives under Abu Dhabi Inspires will be developed by the government and community to address three main pillars. The first is virtual experiences where people connect online to educate, engage and entertain, with a focus on youth and skills development. The second is investing in game-changing sectors for Abu Dhabi and the world, with a focus on tech-based innovation. And finally there is community solidarity, enhancing social consciousness and personal well-being through educational and motivational activities. Initiatives led by government bodies are expected to be announced in coming weeks. Each one must provide new possibilities in the short term but still contribute to Abu Dhabi's long-term goals, the Abu Dhabi government said. The Department of Community Development Abu Dhabi launched a campaign with similar goals. Backed by Sheikha Fatima, the Mother of the Nation, Bode Well encourages community support for one another amid the coronavirus outbreak. It will do this through initiatives centred on creating a positive and peaceful atmosphere among all sectors of society.
