ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on Sunday received the French defence minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
The two met at Al Mamoura in the capital, where they discussed ways to promote and develop bilateral ties, the state news agency Wam reported.
Other topics included military and defence cooperation, and coordination on operations expertise exchange.
Regional and international issues addressed included ways to counter violence and terrorism, Iran’s nuclear programme and the Saudi-led Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.
Representatives at the meeting also included Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, and Mohammed Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince’s Court.
French ambassador Michel Miraillet also attended.
