New eco-friendly residential communities featuring mosques, schools, parks and shops will be created for Emiratis in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the creation of three districts and more than 10,000 plots of land for homes.

"We have ordered the allocation of new land plots as part of promoting the wellbeing and prosperity of Emirati citizens in Dubai," he was quoted by news agency Wam as saying.

“The new residential communities will feature all essential infrastructure."

Distribution of land plots to Emirati citizens who have obtained approval from the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment will begin soon, said Dawood Abdulrahman Al Hajiri, director-general of Dubai Municipality.

The largest community will be in Al Ruwayyah, close to the crossroads of Emirates Road and the Dubai-Hatta Road.

It will be 2,256 hectares in size and comprising 8,428 housing plots.

The second area is across Emirates Road from that, at Wadi Shabak, close at Warsan 3. It will total 232 hectares, comprising 1,315 land plots.

The third new district will be in Mushrif with a total area of 59 hectares, comprising 349 land plots.

Each plot is 1,115 square metres in size. The communities will be built using the highest international sustainability standards, said Wam.
