A girl, 9, has won $1m (Dh3.7m) in a Dubai Duty Free raffle, six years after winning a McLaren supercar in the same competition. The grade school pupil, who was only identified as Eliza M, was entered into the draw by her father, Nadeem, who said he had been regularly taking part in the raffle at Dubai International Airport since his daughter won the McLaren Coupe. The Millennium Millionaire draw takes place every two weeks with only 5,000 tickets available, costing Dh1,000 each. “I have been buying tickets for the $1 million promotion since 2004, and I never missed buying a ticket,” said Nadeem. “Finally, my perseverance has paid off.” Eliza is the 140th Indian to win $1m in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion since the draw began in 1999. Two winners of luxury motorbikes were also announced during the raffle on Tuesday. Mohammad Haneef Adam, a 23-year-old Indian national, who works in Sharjah, won an Indian Scout Bobber bike. “I am thrilled to have won such a beautiful motorbike and I can’t wait to get my hands on this,” he said. Muhammad Safdar, from Pakistan, was the other winner of a BMW S 1000 R motorbike.
