Gang ‘stole Dh130,000 of goods from Sharjah warehouse’

SHARJAH // A gang with criminal records attacked and restrained a security team before stealing Dh130,000 worth of goods from a warehouse, police have said.

Five Asian men were arrested for allegedly assaulting guards and restraining them before getting away with Dh130,000 worth of equipment, electrical cables and copper pipes from a construction company in Sharjah.

Sharjah Criminal Investigation Department were able to identify the suspects based on the crime pattern and forensic evidence.

Officers set up an ambush to apprehend the gang members, who resisted strongly before they were taken into custody.

Checks revealed the men have carried out similar thefts before.

The five men were referred to Sharjah prosecutors to face charges.
